Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are common, self-limiting, non-organic conditions in infancy that occur in almost one of every two infants. The definitions of FGIDs also point to general signs and symptoms, and often a combination of conditions is evident, making a clear diagnosis difficult for the healthcare professional.
